Microsoft Corp has decided to not bundle an iSCSI driver with the next major release of its server operating system, Windows .NET Server 2003, although it will provide iSCSI support later, a company executive tells Byte and Switch. Many in the industry had been expecting -- and hoping -- that Microsoft would include a native driver for iSCSI (which allows storage traffic to run over IP) in Windows. Indeed, Microsoft was planning to do that for the better part of the year.
