Microsoft launches new Web product in Superior | |

Superior became the staging ground Monday for Microsoft Corp. to launch a new service it expects will change the Internet on a global scale. Microsoft came to Superior to launch its $300 million marketing campaign for MSN 8, available Oct. 24. More than 300 people gathered at Center City Park as the Superior High School band played and dozens of children from Northern Lights and Bryant elementary schools donned rainbow-colored butterfly wings. | ||

I went to school in Superior, and this is a bit of a shock. While Superior is known for education (particularly the college), it is even better known locally for its bars. AFAIK, Duluth is the leading port over Superior... although, Superior at the turn of the century intended to be "the next Chicago" and the leading inland port. Despite a court order, Duluthians prevented that from happening.
I really did like the school, though... and I miss their blazing-fast internet access. |

Superior is known for it's bars because they're open an hour later than the ones in Duluth. :)
I'm from the Twin Cities area, so I might be biased. :) |

Exactly... if Duluth's bars were open until 2 am, Superior would probably dry up.... ;)

Ah... so you have the dreaded 35W North drive from Burnsville to Bloomington every day? :)
I'm in downtown Mpls... used to work in Eden Prairie for awhile, though, and lived near Duluth before that. Kinda spoiled by last year's weather... this seems a bit chilly by comparison! I remember going to work late on a November evening last year and it was still very warm.... |
