  Mac OS X update causes Adobe file corruptions, users say

Users of Adobe Systems Inc.'s popular design software, including Photoshop and InDesign, have reported that after updating their Macs to the latest version of Leopard, files get corrupted when saved to network servers. Apple Inc. had no immediate explanation, but a spokesman pointed to a year-old Adobe warning of potential problems when saving files to network drives.

On Wednesday, Apple released Mac OS X 10.5.3, an update that fixed more than 100 security vulnerabilities and other problems.

  Apple Files Patent for Predicting Dropped Mobile Phone Calls

An Apple patent application has been filed that provides for a dynamic warning of an impending dropped cell phone call. The filing describes a technique to give the caller a warning of how much time they have left before the call is dropped.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office filing was made on November 27, 2006 and posted by the USPO on Friday.

  Award-Winning Television Programming Now Available on the iTunes Store in France

Apple® today announced that hit television programming from France’s top networks including TF1, France Télévisions, Arté, Mediatoon’s Dargaud TV and Dupuis TV, along with hit US shows from The Walt Disney Company and MTV Networks is now available on the iTunes® Store in France (www.itunes.fr). iTunes customers can choose from a wide range of primetime favorites including “La main blanche,” “Les Contes de la Collection Chez Maupassant,” “Coeur Océan,” “Spirou et Fantasio,” “Lucky Luke” and “Le dessous des cartes," as well as Emmy Award-winning programs “Lost,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Ugly Betty” and “South Park.”

“iTunes is the number one digital music store in France and we’re off to a great start with TV shows,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes. “We’re thrilled to launch with over 25 programs and 450 episodes available on the iTunes Store in France.”
