Registry Editing Tips

Modifying the Device Configuration

You can view and manipulate the device configuration used on your computer through options on the System Properties property sheet's Device Manager property page, which is available by clicking the System icon in the Control Panel. This property page lists all the devices recognized by Windows to be on the system as well as any hardware conflicts. Conflicts and status of devices in the configuration are stored in Registry key

HKEY_DYN_DATA\ConfigManager\Enum

To inspect or change device properties, you need to access the Properties property sheet. (Select an entry on the device list, and then click the Properties button. A property sheet opens with a General tab and other tabs appropriate for the specific device.) You can use these property pages to modify device settings (such as drive letter, I/O range, and Interrupts). All settings are device-specific.
