Final Comments

How It Grades

Installation: 90%
Performance: 95%
Price/Value: 60%
Overall: 81.6%

The Pentium 4 2.4 GHz widely outclasses its predecessors as well as competing Athlon CPUs. With this new model that doesn't differ from the Pentium 4 2.2GHz apart for the frequency, the Pentium 4 breaks, once again, a speed record setting the bar higher for its competitors. The Pentium 4 2.4 GHz CPU is an excellent but expensive buy for owners of Socket 478 motherboards that want to upgrade their computer to get more power. Nonetheless purchasing a brand new system built around the Pentium 4 2.4 GHz would be regrettable since it won’t offer any processor upgrade possibilities due to the upcoming arrival of the new quad pumped 133 MHz Pentium 4 that will require new motherboards and memory.
