Design
The Logitech MouseMan Traveler is a purebred mouse! This extremely compact
device, which is smaller than a pack of cigarettes, will help those of you
who travel frequently. Nomad users will appreciate that Logitech provides a
protective carrying case with the mouse so you can cart it safely.
The
MouseMan Traveler is simply a marvel that will definitely surprise and
intrigue your co-workers in terms of its design the sleek look. The silver
shell is made with aluminium to give it its extreme lightweight and it can
fit in either hand. Seeing the picture of the mouse you might wonder where
the regular left and right buttons are located or how to click them. The
buttons are integrated into the shell; you just have to press the left or
right top part of the mouse to perform a left or right click! Between the
buttons is the scrolling wheel that is a bit rough to spin. As usual the
wheel will help you to scroll conveniently in long documents. The wheel can
be clicked as well and it becomes a third button you have to assign a
function to (like double click, etc).
Handling
the mouse is very comfortable even if it’s disrupting at first. Indeed due
to its compact size, your palm won’t rest on the body of the mouse like it
would do with a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer. Nonetheless you’ll quickly
get accustomed to its small shape. Maneuvering the mouse is a child’s game
since it slides pretty well thanks to the large rubber
part stuck on the bottom of the device.

Technology
The Logitech MouseMan Traveler uses an (2x)
optical sensor, so there’s no ball, no mechanical parts or anything to clean
providing optimal accuracy over the lifetime of the product. The extreme
compact size of the mouse was made possible due to its optical sensor that
is naturally miniaturized. The Logitech MouseMan Traveler is powered by a
2X
800DPI
optical sensor providing twice the speed and accuracy than the first
Logitech optical mice. The tiny chip employed by the MouseMan Traveler is
seconded with a sensor and digital signal processor (DSP). The sensor's
glowing red light captures "snapshots" of the work surface. The DSP
translates changes between the images into on-screen pointer movements. This
technique results in smooth, precise
800dpi
pointer movements. The optical technology is revolutionary for the
unprecedented accuracy it brings to traditional mouse moves and erases one
of the major drawbacks that mice have had over the times: the ball. Since
there’s neither mouse-ball nor mechanical parts (like rollers, etc.), no
dirt can affect the mouse from working correctly and you will forget the
hassle of cleaning your mouse! Your mouse will remain as accurate as it was
the first day you bought it.
