Microsoft is looking to ease a bottleneck for its software and services in the home by selling networking products this fall, company representatives said.
There is a dedicated team developing 802.11b wireless home networking products within the same hardware division in Microsoft that creates keyboards and mice. Products will be announced this fall. Company representatives declined to comment on the details of the future products, but said that entering the home networking market was inline with the software giant's interests.
Other computer companies, such as Apple Computer, Hewlett-Packard, have been aggressively selling similar products for years.
