ActiveWin Exclusive: Microsoft has just released an update for Windows Media Player that includes the functionality of all of the previously-released patches for Windows Media Player 6.4, 7.1, and Windows Media Player for Windows XP. It also removes the following three newly-discovered security vulnerabilities that are described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:
- Q321678 MS02-032: Patch Available for WMP Cache Disclosure Vulnerability
- Q321677 MS02-032: Patch Available for WMDM PMSP Service Vulnerability
- Q321676 MS02-032: Patch Available for WMP Active Playlist Vulnerability
In addition to these security fixes, this rollup contains the following fixes:
- Q320926 Information Regarding Removal of the .WMS File Association in Windows Media Player
- Q320944 Information Regarding Disabling URL Flips in Windows Media Player
