Nikon, the well known manufacturer of cameras, has recently released a new version 5.1.1 of its NikonView software used to retrieve pictures stored on Nikon digital cameras. This new version adds the following features and fixes:
- Support for EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format for Digital Still Camera) version 2.2.
- Support for the D100 digital camera
- Support for the camera Transfer button for Coolpix 2500 and Coolpix 2000 digital cameras with PTP connection with the Windows XP Operating System
- Corrected a problem that caused images captured with the Coolpix 5700 in RAW format to display colors differently in Nikon Viewer and Nikon Editor after Saturation Compensation had been applied.
- Corrected a problem that caused RAW format images captured with the D100 to display incorrect tones and shades in Nikon Browser’s slideshow.
- Changed the Shooting Data “image description” label to read “image comments”
- Corrected a problem that caused the file icon rather than a thumbnail to be displayed in Nikon Browser’s thumbnail display after an image was output using the “Print” command
This release supports Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Go ahead and update NikonView now (international versions aren't available, yet):
