Indian Boy in Gaza Earns Microsoft Certificate | |

The seven-year-old son of an Indian diplomat in the Palestinian-ruled Gaza Strip has been awarded a Microsoft certificate which is so advanced that some U.S. universities require that their students earn it to graduate. Anudeep Bhaskar obtained a Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) certificate after passing the Microsoft Office 2000 Word exam in May by scoring 891 points, surpassing the required 770. | ||

Look, I understand what everyone is saying...
and No, the MOUS certification isn't and advanced cert... But the kid is 7 years old! You have to give him credit for being so young and having such a great understanding of the software. |

| So, he is 7 big deal. As #1 said this show how watered down the MS certifications are. At this rate he will be an MSCE + Internet is 30days. With that said I am studying to become an MCAD (visual studio .net). Lets see how much in demand that makes me. I am suspecting I might be better off with a MOUS thingy. |

Ok chill people.. no the office cert is not that 'advanced' but still give the kid some credit.
2nd microsoft's exams were once worth there paper..3.5-3.51 days and early 4.0 days. around the time of nt4 sp3 they they started chaning alot of the tests in general.. (making them alot easier) and everything in my opinion went to sh*t. However I have noticed that as of late last year they (at lease with some exams) are starting to make them alot more involved and difficult.. so perhaps they will once again be worth there paper. Personally though I will take a person with 3-5 years experiance over a person with 2 and an msxxx certification.. (yes it's not fair, but realiy) -my 2cents. |

#7 - You're correct, for a while there, the MS certs were pretty easy.
But recently they've gotten considerably more difficult. The MCSD is as tough as it was "back in the day", and the MCSE is... well... extremely long and difficult.... but more long than difficult. 7 tests is too damn many tests. I'm looking forward to the MCSD.NET. :-) At any rate, that's still pretty impressive for a kid... |
