Whatever happened to building truly innovative, quality software as competition? It works, it really does! Many companies have beat MS by this (Intuit comes first to mind) and do quite well.
Unfortunately, Word Perfect, nor Lotus, nor Novell really made innovative, nor quality software. They were the only thing in town until MS swooped in and offered a much better product.
Of course, they'll never admit it because it's easier just to blame MS rather than realize that they failed to produce a competitive product. Now they're advocating collusion. How sad. Really, really sad.
