MSDN Shader Workshop, Part 3: The Pixel Shader Exercises
Time: 13:52 EST/18:52 GMT | News Source: Microsoft | Posted By: Alex Harris

Welcome to Driving DirectX. In last month's column I described the vertex shader exercises that accompanied the MSDN ShaderWorkshop source download. Several general tasks in the vertex pipeline were showcased by these exercises, which serve the dual purpose of illustrating the flexibility and benefits of effects files and vertex shaders. While we think effects files are a very useful component of D3DX, the vertex shader lessons provide value independent of any effects file benefit, and that's something every Direct3D8 programmer can find useful. In this month's column, we are going to conclude the MSDN ShaderWorkshop coverage with the final five exercises that illustrate various and sundry useful pixel shader tasks.
