Netscape's Browser Share Would Rise to 20 Percent Worldwide if AOL Converted Its Customers to Netscape
Time: 13:58 EST/18:58 GMT | News Source: PR Newswire | Posted By: Robert Stein

Thanks Paul. Amid reports that AOL-Time Warner may end exclusive support of Microsoft's Internet Explorer, WebSideStory, Inc. (www.websidestory.com), the world's leading provider of hosted e-business intelligence services, today reported that Netscape's browser usage share would rise more than six percentage points to nearly 20 percent worldwide if AOL AOL converted all of its privately labeled IE browsers to Netscape browsers. Microsoft's MSFT browser share, meanwhile, would fall to 80 percent, according to WebSideStory's StatMarket (www.statmarket.com), the leading Internet user trend analysis service for Web development professionals. As of April 25, 2001, all versions of the AOL/IE browser accounted for 6.41 percent of the global usage share market.
