``YOU'RE THE ONE In Concert,'' a live performance from legendary singer/songwriter Paul Simon, is set for release on home video January 30th and DVD on February 13th. Shot over the course of two evenings in October of 2000, ``YOU'RE THE ONE In Concert'' features songs from Simon's new, Grammy-nominated album ``You're The One'' as well as classic Simon tunes. It was taped before a live audience at the Olympia Theatre in Paris, France, capturing the music, magic, and excitement of one of pop's consummate performers.
With a running time of 120 minutes, the closed-captioned ``YOU'RE THE ONE In Concert'' home video and DVD accompany a PBS world premiere special as well as Simon's ``You're The One'' album from Warner Bros. Records (released October 3rd). The ``You're The One'' album features eleven tracks (seven of which appear on the home video and DVD) and marks Simon's first pop release in ten years. The world premiere of the ``YOU'RE THE ONE In Concert'' television special began airing on PBS nationwide in December as the centerpiece of the network's winter pledge drive.
Included on ``YOU'RE THE ONE In Concert'' are selections from Simon's stint as one of the members of the classic pop duo, Simon & Garfunkel, as well as from his solo career from the 70's to the present. Simon's musical prowess is evident on such timeless classics as ``The Boxer,'' ``Bridge Over Troubled Water,'' ``You Can Call Me Al,'' ``Graceland,'' ``Still Crazy,'' ``50 Ways To Leave Your Lover,'' as well as newer selections from the ``You're The One'' CD including ``Old,'' ``Darling Lorraine'' and the title track.
