Microsoft Corp. , aiming to extend its relationships with wireless carriers, said it is launching a service with Verizon Wireless under which Microsoft 's MSN portal and other MSN applications will become the carrier's default wireless-data service. Terms of the agreement weren't disclosed. The new data service, dubbed "VZW with MSN," will launch on Friday, along with a multimillion-dollar joint marketing and branding program from Microsoft and Verizon Wireless, of Bedminster, N.J. Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications Inc. , New York , and Britain's Vodafone Group PLC.
