Fifteen years ago, Microsoft introduced automatic updating to the unwashed Windows masses. Fifteen years later, it’s hard to find a Windows user who hasn’t bumped into at least one problem with a Windows update or knows someone who has. That’s a billion and a half people. From inscrutable driver problems to bricked machines and everywhere in between, Automatic Update is a poster child in “what’s wrong with Windows” circles -- rightfully so. | ||
