Microsoft's shares took a beating following its gloomy fiscal 2013 earnings report earlier this month, in which it wrote down nearly a billion dollars on its unloved Surface RT fondleslabs. But the software giant isn't out of the woods yet, because new details have emerged that have the full Surface picture looking even worse than was previously thought. | ||

| What nonsense. it's not shockingly hideous, even in lower case letters. Ballmer said at the Worldwide Partner Conference in July 2012 that Microsoft planed to sell “a few million Surface PCs” in the next 12 months. That time frame ends today. They were apparently only about a couple million shy of "a few". So, let's cut Ballmer some slack. Eh? He'll move the rest at or below cost. If the darn thing had Outlook for Metro on day 1 sales would have been much better. |

BallmerSoft spent a LOT of money developing and advertising Surface. Add into the fact they're planning Surface 2.0. Add in that Asus just announced they're dropping making any more Win RT tablets. Outlook for LetsNotCallItMetro wouldn't have helped at all. |
