The Office 365 public preview was a free program that ran from July 2012 to February 2013 to give customers an early look at the Office 365 service upgrade. On May 1st, 2013 we added a "disable subscription" button to the subscription details admin page for these Office 365 tenants. Upon clicking this button customers are able to disable their existing Public Preview subscription and subsequently purchase a new subscription on the same tenant and without data loss. Office 365 service is interrupted after the subscription is disabled and can be re-enabled by purchasing a new subscription and reassigning seats to the new licenses.
