#1,2: LOL yes, and it would be totally unlike MS to piss in a competitor's cornflakes. After all, MS has never opened a store right next to an Apple store, or made a product announcement the day before a competitor's trade show, or shown up at, say, a Linux trade show with a Windows booth etc etc etc. But, somehow, when Google does the same thing, it's lame. How subjective.
Now Google is right to be worried, as any vendor with a brain would be worried about their competition. This is good. If they weren't worried, then they might do something stupid and anti-consumer like let their product rot on the vine like a certain company did with a certain web browser.
