Zune Hardware's Dead: That's the Least of Microsoft's Problems | |

Dear Microsoft: Manage your message or someone will do it for you. Case in point: the recent, none-too-surprising news that the lovely Zune HD will meet a timely death. Within minutes of the news breaking, stories and tweets flooded the Internet declaring, "The Zune is Dead." This was followed by people asking if everything "Zune" was gone or just the hardware. I assured people that the obvious answer was the hardware only, but is it that obvious? And why wasn't Microsoft out in front of this information? | ||

| #1: What do you mean? He's spot on! After all, a LOT of Zunes (or at least a a high percentage of the few that were actually sold) are going to end up in the higher end of the DMP space where they store the electronics to be recycled. |

You guys just don't get it. Paul Thurrott has been saying for a while now that the Zune brand is disappearing. Paul mourns the Zune brand, but he also speaks the truth.

| #6: Ten years ago, you wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between the two. At least PT evolved over the years from being a mindless MS fanboy to something a little more objective. I haven't read him in years so I could be wrong. |
