I think it’s time for the Consumer Electronics Association to cut Microsoft loose and bring in a real innovator to deliver the opening keynote speech at CES. Last night’s on-stage presentation by CEO Steve Ballmer and crew was, quite frankly, embarrassing. | ||

| #1: I think you're underestimating the large number of users who only do FB, web, chat and email. Most of my family over 60 fit that usage pattern. If they can do all that without having to pay the Microsoft tax, it's a win for everyone (except Microsoft.) |

#3: "Microsoft tax"? There is only an "Apple tax" - pay 50%+ for the same features you can get elsewhere at a cheaper price.
#1, #3: Recent statistics show that the majority of FB users are in their teens to mid twenties. Twitter [on the other hand] tend to be older. |

| #6: The MS "tax", or as we call it the purchase price for Windows 7 Home Premium either 32 or 64-bit, is about $50 for giant sized OEM's and $100 for the little guys. You are correct in that Apple indeed likes to mark up its hardware substantially more than Windows boxes are marked up. They are able to do so as their products are generally well engineered and look "cool". |
