#3 No, it is not dead. Is Java dead on Android? Is Obj. C dead on iPhone or iPad?
How can it be dead, they just launched WP7? Dead? Only if WP7 fails and other MS based devices where I expect to see it running fail too (tablets, Xbox, maybe even TVs). Also, for desktop apps, I expect WPF and SL to really become one where SL will take over in fact. That alone is huge market.
It's just that SL will not be competing directly with HTML5 and MS is making it clear. But was it really competing with it? I don't think so.
5 years from now - I don't know, but then who does? Can anyone really be sure that Google's Java on Android will still be preferred way to create apps on Android..?
