Stewart has just posted his first preview of his series on Microsoft's upcoming operating system, Windows XP. This first preview focuses on the features in Microsoft Windows XP Professional Beta 2 for administrators. Here is a snip: Let’s talk about a little thing called “Product Activation.” A LOT of people have been complaining about it. This is a feature that Microsoft has put in Windows XP that forces a user to log in to Microsoft and Register their copy of Windows XP. Most administrators have complained about this because they say that they do not want to have to “run around to every computer that gets installed and register it.” Well, don’t worry. You have 14 Days to activate your version of Windows. (30 in the final release) Are you still upset? Don’t worry about it. Microsoft has provided two entries that can be added to an unattended text file, or SIF file in RIS, that will enable you to not have to deal with this at all. | ||
