Last week, I blogged that members of the Windows Technical Beta Program would not be receiving a complimentary copy of Windows 7. Normally I hate to be wrong but in this case, I’m stoked that I am. To show our appreciation, members of the invitation-only Windows 7 Technical Beta Program will be eligible for a free, final copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. For more information on how to take advantage of this, refer to Paul’s post in the .Beta_Program newsgroup for details. | ||

i guess they will be sending out the emails in a short while. well it is good gesture to show appreciation for the beta team. i think that m$ should make a promo code for tech net but with limited abilities. for example the promo code would be just for the beta tester and they should get full access the product/software that they are beta testing. i do not know but this to me would close in on the people that leak stuff and i think that m$ would be able to help control the promo code by issuing a security key associated with the tech net account plus have more control on how people participate in the beta program that they select. it is sort of like connect site but with more to offer to the beta testers. | Good on them for doing this... even if it's just for PR... right after the leak of the OEM key which gives everybody else a complimentary copy of Windows 7 Ultimate! |

| Since the master key has been cracked and we're all getting free copies as a result anyway, it only seems right to give a copy to members of the Technical Beta Program. |
