Microsoft and Yahoo have agreed to the terms of an online search and advertising deal that will be announced as soon as Wednesday, according to reports. The two sides are close to signing a partnership that, in a shift from earlier plans, would see Yahoo playing a greater role in search advertising, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing unnamed sources. | ||

Very nice. What you'll never read on the web is that the leaders of both companies did something very special here.... they focused on what was good for customers, customers, customers.... (rather than share holders).
By doing so, they'll bring more value to those share holders. I don't know who is shaping the thinking, and it would be interesting to know, but someone has had something of a realization. Share holders and investors won't be as happy this morning and that will be the story - less of a merger than many would have hoped for. I'm glad the leaders reflected an understanding that in this case, their direct focus on customers is what matters most. |

| I guess that Yahoo shareholders will more unhappy that MS ones; at least, being a MS one, I am for sure. |
