Lessons learned from installing Windows 7, over 16 times | |

What have I learned from these installation adventures? I've learned that Microsoft has produced their most stable, reliable & speedy codebase to date. PC's that struggled just to run Vista's basic functions, now can run Windows 7 with all of its features (including Aero). By creating an OS that scales remarkably well, Microsoft has not left the owners of older PC's out in the cold. | ||

Actually the real lesson is: Read the article.
Install Win7 on any PC made in the last 4-5 years. You won't regret it. And ignore Latch. |

To Latch it seems everyone is a sock-puppet; a shill, or a fanboi, or worse - the second they make practical decisions and use software and tools to get things done affordably and profitably.
The ridicule and marginalization continue along their utterly predictable and unimaginative paths... My advice to all: just keep using what works and makes the lives of your customers easier, better and less costly. Drive your own cars and run your own races and where practical, share solutions with one another. Latch will not have an effective argument against that good and positive effort and energy. |

True, but only if you redefine 'everyone' to mean you and parkkker. As an MS follower, you certainly have experience with redefining terms to suit your needs. You, Mr. Strawman, are truly the King of the Non-Sequitur. My comment was about the wisdom of installing a beta product on everyone's systems and the potential problems that come with that choice, and who is going to fix any problems, and who is going to pay for the upgrade once the beta expires, etc. |

some of us have a lot of work to do and are not paid to post here at Awin - like you sure seem to be.
No one I am aware of outside MS itself, wholesale installs large numbers of any new OS. I've never seen it and likely never will. |

| To be clear, I was mocking the guy not for his choice of OS necessarily, but for him to install on a dozen systems of others for purely selfish reasons. These people were happy (I assume) with what they had, and now they have a beta OS they've no experience with that will expire. Stupid. |
