If you use NOD32 V4.0, be careful! There are MAJOR issues with NOD32 V4 and Vista SP2.
This is the first time I've been upset with ESET. So far they are sweeping the issues under the rug, and don't even acknowledge them on their site anywhere I can find. And it's a very serious issue. |

this happens because the lazy antivirus vendors still have to test the SP2 even if they got it more than 1 month ago! This post was edited by suy on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 01:15. |

Here is another issue I encountred. After loading SP2 after resuming from sleep it would sometimes take 30-60 seconds for my wireless logitech keyboard/mouse to start working again. You could hear the system redetecting the items each time. It is a known issue and had to do the following to fix.

I used to like NOD 32 a lot; I had a lot of issues with V3 and V4 does not seem to be much better.
I will give a try to the AV version alone instead of the suite. |

Fritz, they are all pretty bad these days.... Vers 4.x of NOD is so so, but nothing like 2.7, which was the last great version. One can get it to run well, but it takes a custom install and some tuning.
I never ever ever ever thought I would say this, but from what I have tested, Norton's latest BETA has been the best. Fast, light and clean. Who would have thought.... but there it is. Though not monitored by Win 7 RC well, Panda's AV 2009 is also now good again. |
