| Less is NOT more in each case, less is less and more is more! The drive towards oversimplication by MS will some day fry up their products and people ARE going to switching if the product is horribly lacking in features. I can't imagine any one using this product when they are so many simple yet more full-featured solutions on the market. |

| @1, Actually, WMM 2.6 is quite good and feature rich - certainly better than iMovie and veyr often better than other commercial products. |

| I prefer Cyberlink PowerDirector or Pinnacle Studio to Movie Maker. Really anything is better than Movie Maker. |

| I find WMM 2.6 dire compared to the last 2/3 releases of iMovie I have to say! the sooner Apple wise up and release iLife onto the PC the better so people can use something decent |

Yes, Byron, but I know you lean most things Mac, and that is cool - choices and prefs being what they are. WMM 2.6 is still pretty good and for what it does, it does very well.
Personal use for me centers around Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate - great savings by the way, to be had for Vista Ultimate users via the www.ultimatepc.com website. I have a large smartsounds library and more add-ons than are healthy. I also use Serious Magic - especially for keying and was really pissed when Adobe bought them and simply killed the product. SM is still the very best tool I have found for making virtual sets and keying without the keying. |

I don't lean most things mac at all - I lean towards the things that are good and suit me best like others hopefully would do as well. Compare WMM 2.6 to the latest iMovie and for me and hopefully for most others they would realize how much better it is - but then again it should be as you pay for it while WMM 2.6 is very good for a very low quality free option.
Compare Pinnacle 12 to iMovie and things start to differ as its something that is more expensive here in the UK than the whole of iLife compared. If I had any choice for real high quality movie editing it would no doubt be Final Cut - its fantastic compared to anything else out there - but its out of my price league for simple stuff I want to do. |
