It looks like the Ultimate Extras which started with Vista will end with Vista. That's right, Microsoft says no to Ultimate Extras in Windows 7 Ultimate.

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves... there were no Ultimate Extra's in Vista either!
This was worse than the Plus pack!

Windows 7 is so good, they can't possibly include anything better in an Ultimate edition. I mean, how do you add to perfection?

#4, I'm so glad someone is saying this... Do less than Vista and run just a touch faster, and people gush...

Probably nothing to it, but I heard that current Vista Ultimate users are going to get Windows 7 Ultimate for free. While I don't think that is necessary, it would help re-build some measure of good will among Ultimate owners who bought Vista Ultimate for extras as oppsoed to what actually makes the product unique.

#5: What you heard; did the rumor refer to retail only or might the OEM version be included?

#5, Across the board. @3, 5, if there is a truly great thing about Windows 7, it has to be the online digital anytime upgrades and that is going to make Microsoft a ton of money.
The upgrades truly are in-place and the version one has is tested, and the new version delivered. The computer updates in a few minutes.
Now... what I have heard from purdy reliable sources is that in a similar way, much like the current www.ultimatepc.com website does, legit Ultimate users will be able to "steal" a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate online. Once they have validated their copy of Windows Vista Ultimate, they'll be provided a key and access to a digital download. While the process will not be as seamless as it is for Windows 7 users upgrading to the next version, the price will be appropriate. The source is good enough that IF MS does not do this, they're going to catch some flak internally. The Ultimate team is not at all happy with internal management and the brief moment that they were to have been freed up to actually deliver significant extras, was short lived. When I discussed posting about this, the response I received, was: "We don't care; post away; we're as unhappy about the decisions as many Ultimate users are!"

#4: "Someone"?? Everyone is fawning over 7. But I've learned from you over the years. I don't trust any of these reviewers raving about 7. No doubt they're all part of some pro-7 world-wide media conspiracy to generate ad revenue with page hits. "Good day!" to them, I will say.

I don't trust any of these idiots whining about 7. No doubt they're all part of some Microsoft-hating world-wide media conspiracy to generate ad revenue with page hits from deluded haters.

yow... testy out here today...
Actually, Latch, we're very objective and describe what we see in our own builds. I do not think they are looking at 7 any more carefully than they looked at Vista. If they did, they'd report differently.

#12: What about her? Did she spill on her keyboard and now you have to wipe it up?
#13: Your builds? You're compiling 7 from source now?

I think it's damned necessary! But I'll believe it when I see it.
I would be happy to pay S&H.

#16: I also heard MS is giving away a lifetime OS subscription for the biggest Ultimate Extra bellyacher.
Congratulations!

At the same time, you also have to rein yourself in and stay mainly focused on business related topics. You have to find the right balance, and with practice you'll discover it. Anything that wouldn't be appropriate to say to a client in person or in an email shouldn't be included on a business blog.

With a little bit more research and time from you, we are sure you'll come up with a profit-building blogging strategy!
