| Ok, so what about the other MDAC 2.7 version they had for download? What's the difference. |

New Features
The major functionality added with this release is support for 64-bit platforms. In other words, ISVs migrating applications to Windows Advanced Server, Limited Edition needed MDAC 2.7 to work on Itanium. Nothing has changed for Win32 platforms, but Microsoft wanted to have a single, unified redistributable for MDAC. Notice the "TYP" in MDAC_TYP.EXE? That used to mean "Typical install" but Microsoft grew tired of having multiple redistributables, so there is nothing besides "TYP" available anymore. The only different redistributables are for localization. |
