Ed Bott: Who’s buying new PCs with Windows Vista Home Basic? Judging by the name, you’d assume those OS editions would be loaded on underpowered machines headed for tract homes in the burbs and studio apartments in the city. But you’d be wrong.

There may be something to this...
I recently purchased an ASUS eeePC. It has the 1.6ghz Atom processor. It came with XP Home w/SP3. This is the fastest booting, fastest shutting-down, fastest hybernating and fastest awakening machine I've EVER used, including my high-end desktops. Maybe less IS more? TL |

| Less is always more with Windows. Unless, of course, you have the engine (cpu/graphics card) or the fuel tank (memory) to run nicely with "more". |
