The service/site work fine with about any camera - I've used/tested three separate Logitech, Creative and Asus brands.
The Vista Sidebar Gadget is certified to work with select LifeCams. Don't let facts keep you from posting any ole thing you like. |

What is required to use Video Messages? Before you start to use Windows Live Video Messages Beta website, there are several things that you will need: Web camera Broadband connection Internet Explorer version 6 or a later version Microsoft Silverlight 2 Beta 2 Windows Live ID Windows XP operating system with Service Pack 2 (SP2) or a later version Windows Media Player 10 or a later version for Windows XP Windows Media Player 11 for Windows Vista Tip: If you do not want to download Windows Media Player, you can download the Windows Media Format 11 SDK instead. http://videomessages.live.com/portal/PortalFAQ.aspx |

Don't stop there Lloyd... include the next paragraph from the FAQ as well: "In addition to these requirements, you will also need the following before you can install and begin to use the LifeCam Video Messages Gadget: Microsoft LifeCam Windows Vista operating system with Service Pack 1 (SP1) and a 32-bit Windows Sidebar" So I guess facts really didn't get in the way of #2's post! But please, take your own advice, don't let facts get into the way of you promoting Microsoft. Don't worry, whilst there is one item on the requirements list that isn't made by Microsoft you can rest assured that there will come a day (rejoice!) when the second requirement will be "Microsoft broadband connection". |
