Just in case anyone thought all the Microsoft-Yahoo hubbub was over, the companies are still talking about a possible deal, Yahoo President Susan Decker told an advertising conference in New York today.
See this Reuters report for details.
Microsoft, which withdrew its earlier acquisition bid, later said it was still interested in some sort of alternative transaction, but not a full purchase. Reporting on the latest discussions, Reuters says Decker "stopped short of saying whether those talks were about a full merger or a partial deal."
Meanwhile, investor Carl Icahn stepped up his campaign against the current Yahoo board with an open letter to Roy Bostock, Yahoo's chairman. The letter focuses on court documents this week that contained new allegations Yahoo's move to boost employee severance benefits in the face of Microsoft's original bid.
