| hahaha.. Way to go.. We're no where NEAR thinking about deploying Vista, let alone Server 2008.. There are still some clients running Windows 2000 here.. |

I recently upgraded, via new hardware, a Windows 95 customer to Vista SP1. Downgrading to XP would have been just as much of a change as moving to Vista. They agreed with me that going with the latest OS would be best in the longrun. It was a chance to show someone, who hopefully will tell others, that Vista works well, on the proper hardware.
Let the big lazy enterprises stay on XP. Maybe lazy is the wrong term. Scared is better. Scared of putting in requisitions for an extra $25 of RAM per machine during a period of penny-pinching. Downgrading makes sense only if you don't want to spend any money on the extra RAM to run Vista. Cheapskates. |

| Bob, if you don't mind me asking, was this a professional or home customer? It truly amazes me that anyone would still be on Win95 these days :-) In fact, since 2000, I think I've only seen two PCs running Win95!! |

Point taken, but modify that $25 times 23,000 and see where you are. Then add re-training costs for Vista and, more importantly, Office 2007. It ain't $25 any more :) TL |
