What does "tried everything" mean? I doubt the person really tried everything and simply quit when frustrated.
Before upgrading a Vista installation to SP1 I recommend making a drive image (Drive Image XML is free) and then the counterintuitive step of turning off system restore. After the large amount of disk space system restore has gobbled up has been freed up, turn system restore back on and create one restore point. Defragment the hard drive. Then install SP1. If one has problems at this point call 1-(866) 234-6020 for free help from MS. |

| Okay, I can understand someone having genuine problems installing SP1 but staying away from SP1 and uninstalling it seems to be the latest cutting-edge new way to bash Vista by ComputerWorld. |
