@3, Actually backups, the main feature supported by WHS, are not the issue, or affected.
Very rare and difficult to reproduce combinations of factors have to be present in order to produce file corruption in files stored, on accessed and edited in WHS - see, http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=348
While rare, a few users among the more than 100,000 testers involved in the BETA, saw similar issues, which were patched via WU and quickly. MS will do the same now.
The same type of corruption occurs with far greater regularity on all forms of NAS and File Servers - most especially so when files are edited "on" the host device, or server and they have in fact, occurred far less frequently on WHS than on other devices connected across a NW - most especially true of older wireless networks.
Finally, WHS documentation specifically requires that users hard-wire the server to the host NW - NOT wireless. Clients may be wireless, but the WHS must be wired. A great many users with "issues" have made us of wireless connections and use the WHS as a file server only. This practice greatly increases the chances for file corruption.
