Well, there are definitely some nifty items about these:
First: "The Zune music store is going DRM-free, with over 1m MP3 tracks being made available for download."
If everything is DRM-free, that is a pretty big incentive. If nothing else, it will help continue the trend.
Second: "Zune can FINALLY sync video from your Media Center PC!"
I'd like to see how well this works, but that is definitely a big plus. I've got a ton of video that I've recorded that I never have a chance to watch. Of course, it still requires owning a Zune....
Third: "Podcast support! (Sorry, no over the air downloads -- sync only.) Podcasts can also be shared via WiFi."
A big shortcoming for some, removed. WiFi sharing... not so sure I'd use it, really (they'd have to own a Zune, as well would I), but a cool idea.
Third: "WiFi sync to host computer! Includes moving over music, movies, photos, podcasts, etc."
Not that it's so hard to hook up a cable, but cool nonetheless (especially if you lose the cable). Combine it with an inductive charger, and that would be exciting.
Fourth: "All Zunes (including the Zune 30) will have a new, redesigned interface and feature parity. In other words, early Zune 30 adopters will have all the same software features as new Zune 80, 8, and 4 users."
If nothing else, it shows that Microsoft was true to their word on the original Zune and that features would be added over time. If they were Apple, they'd most certainly take a jab by saying "with the Zune, you're not penalized for being an early adopter." ;)
