Get the Facts had a long and controversial role in Microsoft’s battle against open-source software vendors. Recently, it came to light that Microsoft tried to influence some of the analysts it hired to perform studies in 2002 comparing Windows and Linux to portray Microsoft offerings in a more favorable light. Microsoft’s whole policy of sponsoring analysts to conduct studies comparing its products to open-source ones — which many company observers believed would naturally show Microsoft products and strategies to be superior — had been a bone of contention since the site launched at the start of this decade.

UnParker, you quoted a site that has a fat ibm linux ad beside the article. And you somehow ignore that. i love it.

"I did not see any such advertisement. I guess I have a better configured browser than you do. I rarely ever see advertisements on sites unless I want to see them."
That's nice. But that has nothing to do with the question about the Linux ad.

They're not killing their Get The FUD site... they've just re-branded it, like any good marketing department would do! You need to keep upgrading these things to keep people interested.

i would explain elementary school logic to unparker, but whats the point. if he's truly that clueless, then let him sit in ignorant bliss.

#9: No, please do. It should be enlightening. btw where do they teach logic in elementary school these days? In my day, it was something taught in high school math and comp sci. After that, perhaps you can explain why it is that every time you say something, we can see Parkkker's lips move.

"There was no question there. Only a snide comment that I somehow ignored the "fact" that there was an ad there of some sort. I replied that I did not, in fact, ignore the ad, as I had it blocked, so therefore I never saw it in the first place. Thus, it was not conveniently ignored, as the poster ignorantly implied. Therefore, your statement is meaningless. QED."
I hope most of our visitors are not this bad. ;-) You must be a fan of fox news, the Spin Zone.

hey c'mon AWBrian... thats a low blow to the spin zone. at least those guys can manage to tie their own ties.
unparker, reread this entire thread. its as if you don't understand sentence structure or the language isn't your native tongue. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here, as the third possibility is that you were born inebriated.
"elementary school logic" meaning logic that is so UNsophisticated as to be obvious even to someone in elementary school.
jeez, i should get paid if i'm gonna teach special ed classes.

#13: SNAP!
You're a good MS student. You've even learned their trick of redefining common words & phrases to suit your purposes. You get a D- though, as MS does it beforehand, while you do it after you've been slapped.

#19: Who would claim that? He's so far off the deep end that he couldn't disguise himself if he tried. The last time he did, the "Edited by...' line gave him away. For the record, I am not UnParker or any other ID on this forum other than Latch. It's not too hard to discern an individual's posting style after reading them for awhile. I can always tell mini-moore as he never has anything to say. Parkker is always frothing bonkers. Ketchum writes a Bible's worth per post, some of it even on topic.

Considering we can see the ip for the posters, it's not to hard to figure out who is who ;-)

#23: I stand by my assertion that I only post here as Latch. There is a very simple reason why the IPs are the same.
Edit: Check what IPs are used after 6pm.

I know how IPs work :-). Secondly, I haven't said anyone IS using the same IP. Nor have I said they are not :-)

I know exactly who is posting under different aliases. We will ban by IP unless people want to volunteer to start posting under their proper alias. There is even one person here posting under six aliases, all of which are forms of different posters names.
We don't need that on our forums or in our article comments, and we don't want to ban our regulars. Use the honor system and post under your proper alias. I will email those individuals directly if they continue to post under different aliases before banning by IP.
We went through this a little over a year ago, so lets not have to do this again.

I am aware of what banning an IP address can do and whom it can affect, however, thanks for elaborating.
Yes, we are able to disable accounts. That doesn't prevent new ones from being made from that user though. I am banning 5 of the six accounts by one of our users today for example. That is very short term. But I will be monitoring the situation. We will have much improved procedures in the upcoming AWIN 3.0 however.

Oooh... we should have a vote thingy to guess who it is. My money is on Parkkker! He's the only one who has that much to say - or at least say the same thing multiple times.
