Andre has just posted his review of Adobe Photoshop CS 3 Extended. Here is an excerpt: I have used Photoshop since version 4 and it served me quite well throughout the years until I acquired version 7 back in 2002. Since that release, Adobe has upgraded Photoshop a couple times, adding the “CS” moniker to indicate its tighter integration across the product line which consists of numerous applications today, from Illustrator, the leading vector-graphics application, to Flash, the technology that redefined web graphics acquired by Adobe along with Macromedia Corporation in late 2005. For this review we will take a look at the new Photoshop release called Photoshop CS3 Extended. | ||

| Thanks guys, this is just the tip of the ice berg. Should have the reviews for Illustrator CS3, Dreamweaver CS3 and Acrobat Professional 8 up next week in addition to other components. |

Appreciate the review, but this software is SO out of my price range.

| Understandable TechLarry and thats why Adobe have versions to meet your needs. Photoshop CS3 is targeting a whole different area of users, designers, publishers, medical, engineering, architecture. If you are just removing a blemish, then Elements is a more appropriate choice. |

15 years ago when I was a broke tech making 30k a year, I could actually afford Photoshop.
Now I'm doing much better than that, but now I CAN'T afford photoshop because the price has gone up so much. That there is what ya call a bitch LOL And I sure do miss all the NFR's I used to be able to get when in a retail setting. TL |

| As far as I can remember, Adobe has always charged a premium price for Photoshop. But, for users like freelance graphics designers such as myself who own previous versions there are things like upgrade pricing that work out well. You can probably get Photoshop CS3 standard (upgrade) for about $150. You have to also look at the aim of the product, most graphic designers make back the money that CS3 cost with 2 to 3 projects. So the cost is of little burden to them. |

| #6, I don't know about the rest of you, but Ole TL has to be about the most likeable fellow on our little forum here.... I always get a chuckle out of the fun he pokes around. I doubt there is too much in our industry he hasn't seen, accepted, or dealt with. |

| You think 1000 is a lot? Try 20-30 grand a seat for something like Unigraphics or other CAD software. 20-30 grand up front and then your yearly maintanence costs on top of that. 1000 is pocket change for commercial grade software that is essential to you making money. |

| #10, Boy, you ain't kidd'in.... that stuff is very dear... we have a great customer, SWM Engineering, and they pay out the nose for CAD. Same drill for another customer, Excell - just crazy expensive SW. |
