The re-imagining of Battlestar Galactica caught many by surprise with its groundswell of fan fevor. Publisher Sierra was there in the early re-entry with a PS2/Xbox game that helped bridge the gap between the original '70s series and the new Battlestar Galactica, and now the Cylons are back to attack the Xbox 360 Live Arcade and PC with a brand new game based on episodes of the new series. Battlestar Galatica is a simple shooting game befitting the Xbox 360 Marketplace (although it will also be released as a retail game on PC as well as a downloadable title), as it gives you very basic and easy-to-play access to some of your favorite battle events from the series. Gameplay works on a 2D plane, made real with 3D graphics, for fast gameplay and simple controls. There will be a Campaign section of the game with 10 missions based on existing episodes from the first three seasons of the show (and perhaps more via downloadable updates once the show begins season 4), and the game continues the combat with Instant Action play (where you play multiplayer stages with bots) as well as full online battling with up to 16 PC pilots or eight Xbox 360 fighters. Multiplayer modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Domination (where you hold points against an onslaught.) There are 10 Deathmatch maps total and 4 Domination stages.
