"This is the Passport integration option within Windows XP spoken about in the HailStorm whitepaper. It does not appear to be active yet for websites, but it is active and operational within Windows Explorer. For instance, I can upload photos taken from my digital camera directly to my community without being asked for my username and password. It is seamless." | ||

| You know, I'm an MS fan and all, and the Passport thing is really great, but... doesn't it give you the creeps a little? Like I have my porfolio information, my banking information, my name, address, phone number, etc all in my passport. That gets passed around from site to site. Granted, MS controls them all, and they have gone to great lengths to ensure that the passport is secure and only accessible by participating sites, but still, I think they should go the extra mile with privacy. They have started to do this in IE 6 with the privacy settings, perhaps they should integrate this with Passport to ensure that only the sites YOU choose have access to your passport information. |

| #4 Passport info is all on a common database, the only thing that participating sites do is check the database for your user name and password are correct, and then from there, they can offer you what you want based on either your passport settings, or through what you chose, and saves it to the passport database for that site only. |
