Micro-Star International (MSI) on May 21 introduced new Pentium 4-platform motherboards based on Intel’s forthcoming 865 (Springdale) series chipsets.
For the product line using Intel’s 865PE discrete chipset, MSI offers a total of six models with different features. The Neo series consists of the 865PE Neo and 865PE Neo-L. Paired with Intel’s ICH4 south bridge chips, the new boards support six USB 2.0 ports and feature one AGP 8x graphics port and six PCI slots. With two DDR SIMM slots, the Neo series boards offer a memory capacity of 2GB. The 865PE Neo-L, built with Realtek’s 8101L chip, also supports 10/100 Ethernet.
