They've been working on adding new infrastructure to support the ever increasing # of MSN Messenger users as well as some updates to the code to address some annoying issues.
They .NET Service Status web site has had the following text on it for about 2 weeks:
"Providing a quality experience to our end users is our top priority. We are working as quickly as possible to update the Messenger Service to resolve issues that some of our users have been experiencing with connectivity. The update will be in place in the near future, and a notice will be placed here when the update has been completed."
Some of the annoying issues would be the inability to change status after varying amounts of idle time on some networks. Random disconnects through Linksys routers and others. Poor implementation, practically lack thereof, of Network Address Translation. Adding automated firewall assistance setup for Windows XP users that enable the firewall only to find they've broken MSN Messenger's file transfer, Voice Chat, and Remote Assistance capabilities.
As far as build 0077 is concered, I know nothing. :) Was this worthless? I dunno. Just figured I'd post a little since I rarely get the time.
