Runs very nicely on RC2 [5744]. Light as a feather on the system and not at all in one's face.
Its firewall does turn off the default Windows Vista firewall. Out-bound filtering is on by default, and easy to manage. A new Phishing Filter monitor, which may be controlled for all users, is reflected in the security center. For home and SOHO users, I think we'll end up recommending it as we have for XP SP2 users. Other suites we have in BETA feel very heavy by comparison, or intrusive by default - e.g., poping up all the time, until splash screens were disabled in advanced settings. I think WLOC is emerging as a "Three Bears" product - "just right" and not too much, or too little of anything. |

| It requires you to manually go in and enable Xbox 360 - Windows Media Connect in order to use Media Center Extender. A noob wouldn't know this, and is not very consumer friendly. Fortunately I knew where to look. The PC didn't just prompt me to allow access until I enabled the option. Once the option was enabled, I was finally prompted with the allow/block dialog. |

#2, be sure to post feedback to the BETA support team. I went through the private beta for OC and they were very responsive and seemed very eager to make sure it worked.
Also, OC can have a nasty habit of blocking NW shares - I have not seen that behavior yet in Vista, but it is way too early to tell. |
