Nvidia’s high-end NV25-core graphics chips, the GeForce4 Ti 4600 and 4400, are set to hit the market worldwide on March 1. Currently, all of Nvidia’s card-manufacturing partners have related products ready. As for the low-price GeForce4 Ti 4200, which has caused some positioning overlap problem, Nvidia was said to have not ruled out launching the product after May to prolong the company’s product life cycles.
Nvidia introduced its NV17 and NV25 series on February 7 and started selling the NV17-core GeForce4 MX460 and 440 in early February. With the high-end NV25 chips hitting the market, Nvidia is estimated to lead its rival ATI Technologies by one product generation. So far, according to sources, ATI will still not roll out its RV250 chip at CeBIT Hanover next month.
