Ah yes, more FUD coming from C|Net.
As we see yet again, C|Net is levying an all out attack on everything MS. I love how they purposely mislead you to think that MS has proclaimed .NET somehow virus-free and that they have failed.
What CNet DOESN'T tell you, of course, is that .NET is no less vulnerable to viruses than any other piece of code anywhere.
What .NET DOES offer, in terms of security, (and this is what CNet is delibrately getting confused) is that you can run parts of .NET in a sandbox similar to Java Applets (but better :). Standard applications written in .NET, C++, VB, Delphi, et al have free reign of the system and can do anything the user can do (including deleting files, sending emails, etc).
