While the Microsoft-watching world awaits Windows Vista, the company is readying development tools optimized to make Vista applications.
The next version of its flagship Visual Studio product is code named Orcas. Vista will have the .Net Framework 3.0, Windows Communication Foundation for building Web services applications, and Windows Presentation Foundation, which will allow developers to take advantage of Vista's new look.
One of the most significant releases from Microsoft tools division this year was Visual Studio Team System, a group development product line which Microsoft created to sell into large corporations.
