Microsoft finds 60% infection rate in PCs | |

Microsoft on Monday said that it found and removed malicious programs — called "bots" — from six out of 10 Windows computers checked during a recent 15-month period. The disclosure, announced in a report at the Tech Ed conference in Boston, is the strongest proof yet that bots are contaminating wide swaths of the Internet. Bots infect PCs with software that allows them to be controlled by an attacker to spread spam, attack websites or steal identity data. "We're seeing an extremely active level of activity," says Matthew Braverman, Microsoft product manager. "Most malicious software we see today affecting Windows customers is more tied to financial gain." | ||

| So, where is Parkkker, to inform us that Microsoft Windows is better than other OS alternatives, because Windows allows third party software to be installed and run easier than in those other OSes? Doesn't this prove that Windows is more user friendly? :-) |

Ha ha ha ha, "I would recommend pulling the side metal panel off periodically and checking the rear bottom floor of the computer for leaks. If you find a leak, get it serviced ASAP."

| #2: That's interesting, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. Now, if you had been able to find something equivalent to the frequent injection attacks that Windows is prone to occuring in a Mac ro Linux box, then you'd have a valid comment. Otherwise, you are comparing oranges to egg beaters. |

Mystic, they are comparable. Its shows the difference in the way the techrags handle the stories. apple is the golden child.
Why just this morning I saw some story about msft stock taking a nosedive. Has anyone noticed that apple's stock is down 30% in the last few months? See my point mystic? "if you had been able to find something equivalent to the frequent injection attack" Seeing as MSFT was the SOURCE of this info, it would require apple to be equally as OPEN with their own info. Thats NOT going to happen. Apple is the most proprietary company on the planet. |

Yet it's not a good idea to get carried away and make the blog about your family or outside interests. The whole professional vs. personal ratio also has to be calculated with your topic and target audience in mind. Anything that wouldn't be appropriate to say to a client in person or in an email shouldn't be included on a business blog.
