yeah - and I like how you have to "Validate" your copy of Windows to install this crappy beta software. I could download and install Firefox, Opera, Slimbrowser, Maxthon, - whatever and not have to report to Microsoft This post was edited by chrishedlund on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 22:09. |

and what's the deal with the stupid spinning doughnut thing in the tab when a page is loading? Firefox has dots spinning in a circle, so the geniuses at MS thinking - 'Hey! We'll put a solid circle!'
The toolbar layout, and lack of layout customization sucks, the size and lack of customization of size of the tabs sucks, the whole thing just sucks. Why are the icons grouped over on the right hand side? Why is the address bar way at the top? Why are the back and front buttons way up in the left corner? Why is there only one down arrow next to the forward button to jump back multiple pages? Hey Microsoft! Did you ever think that maybe I don't want some stupid search bar in my browser? The search text stays in there after I have submitted my search and have been browsing around and moved on to other things. Do you think I want my wife to walk up and see that I did a search for 'Pamela Anderson naked' or 'Paris Hilton video' an hour after I've finished drooling and left my computer with a big smile on my face? i hate it - virtually every other browser has been at this level of years and have moved on to bigger and better things. This is just embarrasing. |

| When I get a new email on Hotmail and the pop up toast appears in the bottom right corner - why does hotmail open in a new window when my settings are for new windows to pop up in new tabs? |

Chris, what did you want it to have and in what way?
What did they miss, specifically? BTW, Panda Client Shield and Stand Alone clients and their process protection processes, block successful installation. Stopping the processes and setting the process protection service to manual will allow one to install the BETA. Still way too early in any eval to comment about how it is, or is not going to work for us, and our users. Many will have a tough time adjusting - many professionals used to IE 4, 5, 6, and point releases will not be at all happy about the changes - they just don't much care for new things at all. For us, that is going to be very tough to support - at least initially - most especially for any of them that moves to Vista, and Office 12/2007 [that is going to be very tough at first]. That part really scares me. While on one hand all the new interfaces are great, it is going to be a very costly 3rd and 4th quarter supporting people in the 45 to 55+ age group that constitute the majority of the people that buy our systems and services. |
