Even though it is months away from releasing the final code for its newest Windows client, Microsoft has issued the first security patches for its Windows Vista operating system. The patches are designed to be applied to the December Community Technology Preview (CTP) release (an interim test build), as well as to Vista Beta 1, which Microsoft issued last fall. The patches address the same vulnerability that led to the WMF (Windows Metafile) malware attacks that hit earlier this month.
